About the MBA Program

The 2-year full-time MBA at Swami Vivekananda Institute of Management and Computer Science (SVIMCS) is designed to build well-rounded management professionals through a blend of strong theoretical foundations, industry-oriented electives, live projects and a mandatory summer internship. SVIMCS is a semi-government management college — it is approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, Government of India, and affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), a State Government University.

The program is open to students across streams and offers seven specializations with a dual-specialization option, letting students combine functional depth (like Finance or HR) with an emerging skill area (like Business Analytics or MIS).

Eligibility Criteria

  • A bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years after 10+2 examination, from a recognized board, with a minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for SC/ST/PwD).
  • Candidates in the final year of graduation are also eligible to apply.
  • A valid score card in CAT, MAT, CMAT or WBJEMAT is required, followed by a Case-Study round and Personal Interview conducted by the Institute.

Program Structure

The MBA is spread across 4 semesters over 2 years:

  • Semester 1 & 2 — Core management foundations across finance, marketing, HR, operations, economics and business analytics.
  • Summer Internship — A mandatory internship between the first and second year for hands-on industry exposure.
  • Semester 3 & 4 — Specialization electives, live industry projects and a dual-specialization option.
